  • 1987- H.Docherty Ltd (later Docherty Group) a manufacturer and distributor of flue systems starts to offer supply and installation as part of their service.  
  • 1999 – Dedicated department set up to offer supply and installation on commercial projects as part of Docherty Group, the largest independent manufacturer and distributor of flue and chimney products and heating appliances in the UK.
  • 2012 – Docherty Projects set up as a separate division within Docherty Group
  • 2015 – Docherty Projects Ltd established as a separate company as the result of a management buyout with Docherty Group retaining a majority shareholding
  • 2017 – Remaining shares transferred from Docherty Group
  • 2018 – Name changed to Falcon Flues Ltd
  • 2019 – Moved to new premises and opened a warehouse supplying flues, stoves and chimney fans


The team at Falcon Flues are all fully dedicated to providing our customers with a first class service and we welcome customer feedback in order to strive for continuous improvement. Within the team there is a huge wealth of commercial and industrial experience gained from working both within and outside the industry. These are some of the key team members:

Mark first joined Docherty Group in 1987 helping to initially establish a commercial supply and installation offering. He subsequently left Docherty Group and spent many years in the corporate sector managing global projects for multi-national clients before moving back into the construction sector. He re-joined Docherty Group in 2008 and after heading up the Projects Division, led a management buyout in 2015.
Andy is the longest serving member of the team having joined Docherty Group in 1984. He initially worked in manufacturing before becoming a flue installation engineer and subsequently becoming the Manager of the main distribution branch. In 1999 Andy moved back into the commercial projects team as Contracts Manager and was part of the management buyout in 2015. Andy now has overall responsibility for estimating and design.
Sam joined Docherty Group in 1988 initially as a flue installation engineer. After a number of years left to set up business on his own working for a number of flue specialists in the industry before returning to the company in 1999 as Installation Manager for the commercial projects team. He was part of the management buyout in 2015 and is now Project Director with overall responsibility for project delivery.
Allister Moorcroft - COMMERCIAL MANAGER
Allister has been with Docherty Group since 1984 when he joined the family business as company accountant. He subsequently took over the reigns of the business as Managing Director and oversaw substantial growth with the company becoming the largest independent manufacturer and distributor of flue and chimney products in the UK. In 2017 Allister sold the Docherty Group business and subsequently agreed to come on board with the team at Docherty Projects. Today, Allister, in the role of Commercial Manager, is largely involved in identifying and developing new customers as well as investigating potential new opportunities within the industry.

Training & Certification

We take our responsibilities for health and safety very seriously and are accredited within the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme (CHAS). Along with industry specific training you can be assured that all our employees as well as any specialist subcontractors we employ have the requisite certification to ensure all works are carried out with health and safety to the forefront.
