BBC Maida Vale

A flue system was required to serve 2 No 1200 KW Hartley & Sugden forced draught boilers at the BBC Studios in Maida Vale. The existing flue liner within a freestanding concrete stack had collapsed. It was not possible to reline the existing stack due to the collapsed liner and the difficulty of removing it so we had to find an alternative solution.

The Outcome

2 No 400mm ID stainless steel twin wall insulated flue systems were installed from the boilers through to outside the boiler room and then up the outside of the concrete stack for 15 metres.
